Undergraduate study

Open days

During departmental induction week, on Wednesday 30th September, there will be a talk by the archivists about finding and using archives, and about the archives held by the University relevant to special subjects and dissertations.    Hand-outs will be available for each special subject where significant and/or extensive primary source material is held, together with guides to help you identify and locate relevant material held elsewhere in the UK.

Following this presentation, during Wednesday afternoon, an open event for third year History students will be held in the Archives room in BJL.  This is to help students become familiar with archives and how to use them, and to help them start the process of thinking about primary sources for their dissertation topic.
