Pro Fide
The Conservative MP Sir Patrick Wall (1916-1998) was a leading figure in Catholic politics and his papers include the original circular letters for Catholics United for Faith (1969-1970) and files about its establishment as Pro Fide (1970-1971). There are lists of original members of Pro Fide, the draft manifesto, newsletters and minutes of the National Council from 1970, as well as correspondence files with Cardinal Basil Hume, Archbishop of Westminster. There are transcripts of Patrick Wall's speeches and papers related to his chairmanship of Pro Fide, with reports of the Education Sub-Committee, and files on regional groups of Pro Fide and the Teachers' Guild. Printed material and correspondence with supporters in England and abroad span the dates 1970 to 1989. [DPW/26]
