This small collection of papers relates to the affairs (especially financial) of Samuel Richard Radford, solicitor and owner of the manor of Alvaston, Derby. They comprise largely correspondence, especially letters concerning the estate of John Borough of Derby 1826-1829, letters about investments in railway stock and about 50 letters from his brother, Edward Radford, about his financial and family affairs.
