Miscellaneous items include Francis Smales's seventeenth-century book of pedigrees (DP/169), a file of vouchers for building work done for the antiquarian, Gilyatt Sumner (DP/66-78). The artificial collections of DP and DX contain court rolls for the manor of Beverley Water Towns 1649-1764 [DX/50/1-7] and miscellaneous estate papers for Bridlington [DP/96-107], Catwick [DP/57; including a 1731 field book], Cottingham [DX/10], Hedon [DP/23-35], North Burton/Burton Fleming [DP/86-95, 100], South Cave [DP/36-49], Scarborough [DP/109-129], Withernwick [DP/61], Woodmansey [DP/59; being a file of alehouse recognizances 1789-1812]. There is the account book of a Scarborough farmer 1824-30 [DX/13/1] and Thomas Metcalfe's farming diary and recipe book for 1807 [DX/54]. There is the 'herbal' of the Reverend William Whytehead, vicar of Atwick, kept between 1757-1817 [DX/68] and a household account book of Mrs Wilson of Wetherby 1815-1828 [DP/145], as well as Sarah Caroline Buthicar's commonplace book/diary 1830-52 [DX/64/2]. DDX is a miscellaneous collection of antiquarian material relating to the East Riding of Yorkshire which includes the papers of several East Yorkshire families (some of whom are separately-noticed). It also contains concentrations of papers for Beverley and Cottingham and some medieval charters and title deeds [DDX/16/1, 230-6].
