What you'll study

About the course

Please note, this course is for international applicants only.

BSc Nursing Studies (UCAS B700) is designed specifically for nurses who have non-UK qualifications and wish to study for an academically-focussed degree. It normally runs for two academic years but can be undertaken over one, two, or three years depending on individual applicants’ academic qualifications. Nurses who have a diploma-level qualification usually require only one year of study, whereas those who have previously taken a non-academic course are likely to require the full three years. You will study modules alongside UK students who will either be studying the BSc Nursing programme (Years 1 and 2), or ‘topping up’ their diploma (Year 3).

This programme will enhance your existing skills and, with two assessed practice modules, prepare you for the exciting challenges of modern nursing. In fact, we are one of the few universities to offer placements to suitably qualified nurses from overseas.

Please note: if you do not hold a nursing qualification in your own country, or wish to work in the UK, you should apply for the BSc Nursing (UCAS B740) programme instead. For our full range of nursing courses, please click here.

Future prospects

Most of our students choose this course because they wish to study to degree level, either to further their clinical career or enable them to continue their studies in nursing to masters and doctoral level.

Please note that if you wish to register as a nurse in the UK you should apply for one of our three-year BSc Nursing courses instead. Click here to find out about our other programmes.
