We offer Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, English Language, Linguistics and Cultures with a broad choice of complementary subjects.

  • MA in TESOL

    Ideal for language graduates, or those with teaching experience to gain in-depth knowledge of English and how to teach it to speakers of other languages.

  • MA in TESOL with Translation Studies

    This course focuses on English and how to teach it speakers of other languages, but also looks at translation theories and practice.

  • MA in Translation Studies

    Learn the skills to deliver success in areas such as international business, trade, and legal affairs, to name just a few.

  • MA in Translation Studies with TESOL

    This degree focuses on translation theories and practice, but is also suitable if you have an interest in English and how to teach it.

WHY STUDY AT HULL?

Become fluent in another language and immerse yourself in the history, literature, art, films, music, media and politics of the culture.

We offer Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish, with the option to study one, two or three of the languages, and the chance to take an intensive course if you want to start a language from scratch.

While studying for a degree, you can also choose to gain a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification, enabling you to teach English anywhere in the world.

To help improve your language skills, we run a tandem scheme to pair you up with a native speaker, plus you’ll benefit from lots of contact with native speaker tutors.
