Walter joined the University of Hull in January 2015 as a postdoctoral research associate in physics, working on a project which looks at the assembly of colloids at liquid-liquid interfaces.

Previously he was awarded a BSc Hons in Physics, along with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics and a BA in Classical Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

He remained at VUW to complete a PhD, Computational Methods for Light Scattering by Metallic Nanoparticles, working with Professor Eric Le Ru, awarded in 2014.
