Summary

Jean-Sebastien joined the University of Hull in 2014 and his research focuses on using nanophotonic and plasmonic systems to enhance and control light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, through a wide range of geometries, including nanogaps, periodically nanostructured metal films , metamaterials, plasmonic waveguides, novel nanoparticles architectures, as well as hybrid photonic-plasmonic geometries.

In addition to exploring the fundamental aspects of light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, through close collaborations with computer sciences, chemistry, biomedical sciences, and environmental sciences, as well as direct industrial contacts, he focusses on applications of his research for enhanced optoelectronic and AI devices, novel biological systems, and environmental impact.
