Janine Kopp is subject leader for French Studies having previously been Director of Studies for the University's Language Passport Programme.

She has a degree in English and Linguistics (Licence es Langues, Littératures et Civilisations étrangères) from Strasbourg University and an MEd from the University of Hull where her thesis focused on Indoctrination and the Power of Words.

An experienced translator, she has worked as a freelance translator and interpreter, and ran her own translation agency before joining the University.
