Denise Thursfield has teaching and research interests in the areas of critical and labour process approaches to HRM.

Her research has focused on areas such as the internal management of trade unions, critical approaches to teamworking and performance management and human resource development.

Denise has published in journals such as Management Learning, Work Employment and Society, Employee Relations, the International Journal of Human Resource Management and Personnel Review.
