Dr Chunfei Wu works in the areas of catalytic thermal chemical conversion of biomass, plastics and other wastes into valuable products including syngas, hydrogen, bio-oil and carbon nanomaterials. His current research also focuses on CO2 capture using solid adsorbents.

He has been an external PhD examiner for the universities of Liverpool and Sheffield. He is a reviewer of several journals (e.g. Applied Catalysis B: Environmental) and proposals (e.g. The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development of Vietnam).

Dr Wu has published around 100 journal papers (h-index: 27), and his group has about six researchers.
