Caroline trained at the University of Hull and qualified in 2000 with a BSc Honours degree.

She spent the next 15 years working in trauma and orthopaedics with the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The majority of her nursing career was spent as an advanced nurse practitioner with her main focus on poly-trauma, hip fracture, and acutely unwell patients.

Caroline successfully completed her Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification in 2006.

  • The use of clinical simulation in advanced practice education

  • Post-operative delirium in patients with a fractured hip

  • Morbidity and mortality of hip fracture patients with orthopaedic units in comparison with elderly care units
