Dr Beyer has researched terrorism, counter-terrorism and security issues since 2001, resulting in a number of monographs, including Violent Globalisms: Conflict in Response to Empire, Counterterrorism and International Power Relations and Inequality and Violence: A Re-Appraisal of Man, the State and War. Since 2010, she has also been carrying out interdisciplinary research on political psychology, as applied to international relations. This research culminated in a monograph entitled International Political Psychology (Palgrave 2017).
