Research

The University has a richly-deserved reputation for world-class multi-disciplinary research that drives forward improvements to healthcare and the wellbeing of society as a whole.

An outstanding 87% of the University’s health research was classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in the most recent national assessment (REF2014).

Research facilities include our spectacular new £28 million Health Campus, our PET Research Centre and the Daisy Research Laboratories at Hull's Castle Hill Hospital.

The University is establishing an Institute of Clinical and Applied Health Research (ICAHR), bringing together expertise in the field.
It will provide research relevant to the local community, taking into account the healthcare needs of the region and ensuring research here in Hull is at the forefront of its field. ICAHR will house a research methods hub, a resource that will provide support for a full range of applied health research including trials, epidemiology and health economics.

It will include the Wolfson Centre for Palliative Care Research which aims to be a global leader in research relevant to the needs of people living with and dying from serious chronic illness.
