The Total Environment Simulator

The Deep, Hull

The Total Environment Simulator (TES) is an experimental facility designed for modelling the dynamics of fluid and sediment transfer under a wide range of environmental conditions. The facility consists of a flume tank where experiments are conducted with apparatus to control the movement of water and sediment In addition there is an integrated suite of high-resolution monitoring equipment to measure process rates and the shape of developing landforms. The TES is designed to provide a flexible modelling environment that can be configured to simulate a wide variety of environmental conditions.

Hydralab logo Over the next three years this research facility will be involved in HYDRALAB III. Hydralab is an Integrated Infrastructure Initiative funded through the sixth framework programme of the European Commission. The Commission finances access for researchers from the EU and Associated States (EU States, Bulgaria, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey).
