Planning your arrival

The exciting part - travelling to Hull! We've put together all the information you'll need to plan your journey. You can also book your place on our free pick-up service.

We will email you with details of our arrival period. If you start your studies in September, don't miss out on our fun Welcome Week activities and opportunities to make friends. Welcome Week starts on Monday 18 September 2017.

Free arrival pick-up

We offer a free pick-up service to all new international students who arrive on selected dates in our arrival period. This service is usually available at Manchester Airport, Humberside Airport, Hull train station and Hull ferry port. Complete our online pre-arrival form to register. More information for students arriving in September will be available very soon. If you have any questions, email inductionandtransition@hull.ac.uk.

After you have made your travel arrangements, please complete our online pre-arrival form, even if you are unable to travel on our official arrival dates.

Attend a pre-departure briefing in your country (if possible)

A British Council pre-departure briefing can answer your questions and help you prepare for your move to the UK.

Pack your luggage and print off your yellow luggage labels. Travel to England!

Try not to bring too much heavy luggage - you will be able to get most things that you need in Hull.

If you are using our free pick-up service, you can bring two suitcases and one piece of hand luggage.

Make sure you attach your yellow luggage labels to your luggage!

Welcome! You've arrived in England!

Be collected free of charge by University of Hull staff and volunteers from Manchester Airport, be picked up in a taxi from Humberside Airport or Hull ferry port during our arrival period, or make your own way to the University.

University staff and volunteers will welcome you. You will receive your accommodation keys and be taken to your allocated or temporary accommodation.

We have fun-packed Welcome Week and orientation activities to help you settle in and make new friends. Get stuck in and have a great time at Hull!
