Free arrival pick-up

We offer a free pickup service to all new international students who arrive at Manchester Airport on 25 January before 1pm. Please complete our online pre-arrival form to register.

If you are arriving at Humberside Airport or Hull Ferry Port, please email us and we will provide you with a reliable taxi (at your own cost).

We also offer discounted train tickets from London Kings Cross to Hull, please email us for further information.

Attend a pre-departure briefing in your country (if possible)

A British Council pre-departure briefing can answer your questions and help you prepare for your move to the UK.

Pack your luggage and print off your yellow luggage labels. Travel to England!

Try not to bring too much heavy luggage - you will be able to get most things that you need in Hull.

If you are using our free pick-up service, you can bring two suitcases and one piece of hand luggage.

Make sure you attach your yellow luggage labels to your luggage!


Welcome! You've arrived in England!

Be collected free of charge from Manchester Airport, or make your own way to the university.

University staff and volunteers will welcome you. You will receive your accommodation keys and be taken to your accommodation.

There will be an orientation and a briefing session for exchange students. Registration is on 26 January. Find out more about what to expect when you arrive.
