Entry requirements

  • Undergraduate

We're currently confirming our 2018 undergraduate entry requirements and will publish them soon.

In the meantime, please get in touch by emailing global@hull.ac.uk or call +44 (0)1482 462190.

Don't quite meet the requirements? Don't worry - we review every application on an individual basis. Email global@hull.ac.uk to find out more. You may also be interested in our degree preparation course, ONCAMPUS.

  • Postgraduate Taught

The majority of our taught Masters programmes require that you hold a qualification equivalent to a lower second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.2). Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider Diploma IV (D4) or Bachelor degree / Sarjana I (S1) awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in Indonedia to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.

    Lower second-class (2.2) equivalent

    • GPA 2.8 out of 4 in D4
    • GPA 2.5 out of 4 in S1

    Upper second-class (2.1) equivalent

    • GPA 3.3 out of 4 in D4
    • GPA 3.0 out of 4 in S1

Don't quite meet the requirements? Don't worry - we review every application on an individual basis. Email global@hull.ac.uk.

  • Postgraduate Research

Check course listings for specific entry requirements. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Remember, we judge each application on an individual basis.

If your first language is not English, or you require a Tier 4 student visa to study, you will be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency level. Find out more.

"I graduated with a BEng Electronic Engineering degree in 2016 – but a degree was not the only thing I obtained from my time at Hull. I also gained valuable experience in the field of engineering, good relations with my lecturers, and the greatest bunch of friends I have ever made in my life.

"The positive impact that the University had on me motivated me to carry on with my studies even further, and now I am doing my postgraduate degree in MSc Energy Engineering.

"I must say, I couldn’t be any more satisfied with my decision. I really encourage anyone wanting to further themselves to join the University of Hull."

"I chose the University of Hull because of its excellent reputation for Business courses; the quality of its Management Consulting programme, which really suited my needs; and the low cost of living compared to other parts of the UK. I was also attracted by the volunteer opportunities it offers to students, which are useful in gaining experience and improving social skills.

"During my time here, the Business School has given me a lot of support: I found my consulting project with the assistance of the World of Work office, and I also received a bursary, which was a great help to me.

"I like the quiet and peaceful atmosphere in Hull, which I would not get in a big city. The University also offers top facilities such as the Library, which has meeting rooms and PCs available whenever you need them. I have also always felt supported by academic staff and the careers service.

"The UK has an international reputation for the quality of education it offers, which means my qualification is recognised internationally. Studying here has also helped me to develop my English proficiency. Hopefully, this will help me to stand out in the job market in my home country."

“As a disabled student, I have had a great experience during my studies at the University of Hull. The Disability Services staff helped me overcome any problems such as finding suitable accommodation.

“The majority of facilities at the University have wheelchair access, for example the library, classrooms, sports centre and Students’ Union.

“As a disabled person, I can be independent here and I would like to thank the University of Hull for giving me a chance!”
