Accommodation at Hull

Leaving home to start your adventures as a student is exciting, but it can be daunting too. So sorting a comfortable and secure place to live is a major box ticked.

The Hull guarantee

We've got rooms available right now for new full-time unaccompanied students. No worries.

Looking after the pennies

Here’s some more good news: as rent and the cost of living in Hull is among the most reasonable in the country, your budget will go a lot further than in most other UK towns and cities. So more money for socialising. Did we say having fun? We meant textbooks. Ahem.

The Lawns

The Lawns is like an exclusive student village which has just undergone a £2.5-million facelift. It’s a perennially popular choice for first years. Why? Its own cinema and bar. Free 50Mb WiFi. A rooftop café. A state-of-the-art gym. That’s why. Price range: £94-£138 per week. Learn more

Needler Hall

Student houses

The University owns 189 terraced houses in the streets right next to our campus. Then we said “hey, why don’t we rent them out to our students?”. Close to campus, easy on the pocket. Understandably popular. Price range: £72-86 per week. Learn more

University leased

Leased properties are owned by private landlords but leased and managed by the University. The majority of houses we lease are within a mile of campus. And you can rest easy that they have to meet certain standards to earn our seal of approval. Price range: £65-£86 per week. Learn more

Private sector

If you’d prefer to live independently of the University, we can also help you to find private-sector accommodation. It’s usually located between the area around campus and the city centre. Learn more
