Guests and tickets

Guests and tickets

Celebrate your graduation with friends and family.

You will  be issued with two  guaranteed guest tickets but you can request extra tickets on your graduation reply form.  Extra tickets will be allocated if possible and issued with the guaranteed allocation.   However, you should be aware that it is unlikely that there will many additional tickets available and so we would strongly advise you NOT to make travel or accommodation arrangements for extra guests without confirmation that you have tickets for them.

You will receive an email in late December confirming how many tickets you have been allocated.

ACCESSIBILITY

If any of your  guests have specific accessibilty requirements, please complete section 5 on the graduation reply form or contact us as soon as possible - before guest tickets are issued. They will be allocated seating on the main floor level and stewards will be available on the day to direct guests to seats.

Lift access to the main floor is available for guests with mobility difficulties.

Students with mobility needs may be seated on a platform, but this will be discussed with you before the ceremony.

CHILDREN

The ceremonies are lengthy formal events which are are often unsuitable for young children.  Children 18 months or over should be supervised at all times and will require their own ticket.

COLLECTING TICKETS

Tickets can be collected from the ticket collection desk at the  Guildhall on the day of your ceremony at the times specified.

LIVE STREAMING

For the benefit of those unable to attend, we live stream each graduation ceremony

GUEST VISA LETTERS

If your guests require a visitor visa to attend the ceremony, we can provide you with a letter of invitation that they can use to support their visa application. The letter will formally invite you to the graduation ceremony and your guests will need to submit a copy of this , plus a letter of invitation from yourself (a letter written by you, inviting that person to accompany you to the ceremony) to the relevant authorities.

To request a letter, complete this form. It usually takes 3–5 working days for applications to be processed. Letters can be collected from the Ask HU Service Desk or posted to the address given on the letter request form.

Information on how to apply for a visitor visa can be found here.
